Artist statement

- The overall purpose to my experience as an artist is the opportunity to learn...about all sorts of different subjects. I've always had an intense curiosity and making art is a means to that end, from the subject matter to location and history to materials. While most of my projects have been for the private sector, in this past year, I've been working on two publicly funded sculptural installations. Since I have a degree in History from UCLA, I tend to gravitate to history or location based concepts as inspiration. If I have a unique emphasis, it's in the amount of research that I conduct on any given project, and most often to an insane and compulsive degree. These blogs give me an opportunity to express this additional involvement, and hopefully, the visitor will be participate. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
